This Friday we will celebrate the inaugural, “Stop Food Waste Day.” Stop Food Waste Day only comes around once a year, but as one of the nation’s largest food service providers, we are committed to serving our communities with a continued mindset to stop food waste every day. As a company, Morrison Healthcare has pledged to reduce food waste by 25 percent by 2020.

As he walks the halls of Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Chef Frank Murnane is hard to miss. Standing 6 feet 7 inches in his starched-white uniform, he is a formidable figure, but is mostly known for his compassion and care for his patients.
Chef Frank won an award from the hospital administration for creating a puree pizza for a dying patient and his service to others is also reflected in his 30-year military career.
“I like taking care of people who are trying to get healthy and that’s one of the things I find very rewarding about working here at the hospital,” he says.
