Bringing Health and Wellness Beyond the Hospital
A healthy smile is an essential part of overall health and well-being. That’s why this year, Morrison Healthcare associates across the Kilpatrick and Kruesopon regions came together for the annual May the Tooth Be With You dental hygiene drive. The teams joined forces to collect and donate more than 6,000 dental hygiene items to local charities serving individuals and families in need.
More Than 6,000 Essential Items Donated
The donations, which included toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and other oral care essentials, will help improve access to basic hygiene products for community members who may otherwise go without.
For many people, these everyday items are easy to purchase. But for thousands, access to basic dental hygiene products remains a challenge. Poor oral health can contribute to pain, infection, and difficulty eating. It can also affect confidence and overall quality of life. Maintaining good oral hygiene helps support proper nutrition, overall wellness, and long-term health.
By helping provide these essential supplies, Morrison associates are doing more than filling donation bins; they are helping remove barriers to healthier lives.
This year’s campaign saw an uptick in participation. Associates in the Los Angeles area collected 897 dental hygiene items, a significant increase from 538 items during last year’s inaugural drive.
“We had greater participation this year, which is fantastic,” said Kham Ta-Aca, Systems Executive Chef, Food & Nutrition at Los Angeles General Medical Center. “Once people understood that the donations would directly benefit our own patients and community, many more chose to contribute.”
The success of this year’s campaign reflects the compassion and generosity of Morrison associates, who are always looking for ways to make a meaningful difference beyond the hospital walls.
