But at Health First Viera Hospital, chefs are hand-breading catfish, grilling fresh salmon to order, and creating restaurant-style meals designed to nourish patients while changing perceptions about what hospital dining can be.The operation, managed by Health First in partnership with Morrison Healthcare, serves hundreds of patients daily while also handling over 10,000 café transactions each month.

Woman Changed Wedding Date and Got Married on Hospital Rooftop So Her Dad with Advanced Cancer Could Be There
Posted: 05/29/2026A bride moved her wedding to the rooftop of Cleveland Clinic in Ohio after her father was hospitalized with health issues. Courtney Coccaro said having her father, John, walk her down the aisle was “the most important thing” to her. Members of Cleveland Clinic’s Intensive Care team helped decorate the rooftop, arrange the ceremony and assist Courtney’s dad so he could be present for the moment.

Mayo Clinic’s Revamped Patient Meal Delivery Structure Brings More Timely Meals to Patients
Posted: 05/19/2026Like many hospitals coming out of COVID-19, Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, Minnesota saw its patient feeding systems get consolidated due to a drop in intake.
Mayo Clinic’s foodservice provider, Morrison Healthcare, adapted accordingly and was operating out of a single kitchen on the campus. As the time went on, however, and patient intake numbers began to climb again, they realized a change was needed to continue to effectively serve patients. So, the team looked at their options and decided to reactivate an underutilized kitchen, named Domitilla Kitchen, on the other side of the hospital that could support five additional patient units.
