Tim Pierce, the chief executive officer of Compass Healthcare Operations, is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the company’s brands made up of Morrison Healthcare, Crothall Healthcare, and TouchPoint Support Services, which provide food and support services in more than 2,600 locations across the U.S. The brands combined proudly have 90+ years of healthcare experience, 72K+ associates, $6.7B+ yearly in revenue, and serve 570M+ meals annually.
Tim has been with Morrison Healthcare for more than 38 years. Prior to his current position, he served as the chief executive officer of Morrison Healthcare for almost 12 years. Before that, Tim held roles as president, division vice president, regional vice president, and regional director of operations. He is part of the Compass Healthcare Operations management team, which guides the strategic direction of Morrison Healthcare, Crothall Healthcare, and Touchpoint Support Services. Additionally, Tim is a member of Compass Group North America’s Strategic Leadership Institute and the Center for Creative Leadership.
Jeff Almy is the chief financial officer for Compass Healthcare Operations, which includes the brands Morrison Healthcare, Crothall Healthcare, and TouchPoint Support Services. He is responsible for the financial planning, operational analysis, and support, including budgeting, evaluating new business opportunities, contract negotiations, retention strategy, and financial leadership of acquisition.
Prior to his current role, Jeff was chief financial officer for Morrison Healthcare for three years. He has been with Morrison Healthcare since 2013 and has held roles as vice president of finance, and director of finance. Before joining Morrison, Jeff worked in various finance and analytics roles at The Home Depot and S.P Richards.
Jeff earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama. He and his wife Virginia have three daughters. Jeff enjoys playing golf, watching college football, and spending time on the Gulf Coast with his family.
Avi Pinto, the chief executive officer of Morrison Healthcare, is responsible for the company’s leadership and strategic direction. Morrison Healthcare provides food and nutrition services to more than 1,000 hospitals across the U.S.
He joined Morrison Healthcare in 2008 as the finance director for our retail team. In 2011, Avi was named senior director of finance for Touchpoint Support Services, another division of Compass Group, and played an integral role in the company’s formation and development. He returned to Morrison in 2013 as a regional director of operations. Since then, Avi has been a regional vice president, senior vice president, and most recently, division president, overseeing $840M in managed volume.
He is part of the Compass Healthcare Operations management team, which guides the strategic direction of Morrison Healthcare, Crothall Healthcare, and TouchPoint Support Services.

Gina Damon
Gina Damon is the president of operational support for Morrison Healthcare. She is responsible for the company’s clinical nutrition and wellness, culinary/retail, patient solutions and nursing engagement support teams.
Gina joined Compass Group in 2015 and previously was senior vice president of human resources for Compass One Healthcare, supporting both Crothall Healthcare and Morrison Healthcare.
Gina previously worked at PayPal. As vice president of global talent acquisition, she was responsible for recruiting at all levels for the company. Prior to that, she led a team of human resources professionals for eBay Inc.’s global technology platform and infrastructure. She was instrumental in leading activities critical to the legal separation of eBay and PayPal.
Gina also has held several senior-level human resources roles in the financial services industry with Bank of America and Goldman Sachs. She has broad experience in change management and has been involved in several corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Gina holds a Bachelor of Arts in pre-law studies from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
John Cipollini is a division president for Morrison Healthcare, which provides food and nutrition services to health systems from Chicago to the West Coast. He has held this position since 2013.
John joined Morrison in 2008 and has also been a regional vice president and regional director of operations. Before joining Morrison, John has held leadership and business development positions with major competitors, with diverse experience in support services in both healthcare and higher education.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Gettysburg College.
Peter Lanois is a division president who has had a long and impressive 25-plus-year career with Morrison Healthcare and is one of the company’s top transition experts and has a proven record of developing strong teams and lasting partnerships.
Starting his career in food service as a fine dining chef at hotels and country clubs, Peter joined Morrison as a Chef, and has since moved through various operational leadership roles at major health systems and hospitals, including system director, regional vice president, vice president of operations and senior vice president.
Peter attended the University of Tennessee. He loves outdoor activities and spending time with his wife, Beth, and their black lab named Jed.
Joe O’Brien is a division president for Morrison Healthcare, overseeing national system affiliations as well as regions in the South/Central region, providing food and nutrition services to hospitals in eastern Tennessee, North Carolina, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania. His clients include some of the nation’s largest hospitals, including Community Health Systems, Hospital Corporation of America and Tenet Healthcare. He has held this position since 2013.
Joe joined Morrison Healthcare in 1981 and has worked as a regional vice president, regional director of operations and system director. He has also worked as a division vice president of food and nutrition services for TouchPoint Support Services, another Compass Group company that combines acute care foodservice and support services.
Joe holds a criminal justice and political science bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.
Glenn Robinson is a division president for Morrison Healthcare over the territory that covers New England, the Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic states.
Glenn is a healthcare hospitality leader with 30+ years of experience in foodservice operations. Glenn’s client focus and leadership with Morrison Healthcare for the past 25 years has led to multiple lasting relationships with several hospital partners and has contributed to the growth of our company.
He has a passion for serving others and elevating patient care using the “Power of Food” to nourish, comfort and heal. Before becoming a division president, Glenn was one of Morrison’s top regional vice presidents– successfully leading our client partnerships and operations for several key accounts.
Glenn attended Johnson & Wales University, and he serves as a mentor to many of his peers. He resides in Chatlfont, PA with his wife, Dara and their two children.
Lenny Scranton is a division president for Morrison Healthcare, leading business in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
Inspired by his father, a formally trained chef, Lenny has had a passion for the culinary arts since he was young. By his early teens, he was working in restaurants after school. Lenny earned his associate degrees in both culinary arts and hotel/restaurant management from Sullivan University’s National Center for Hospitality Studies in Louisville, Kentucky, and entered his culinary career in the fine dining segment.
After spending several years working in fine dining restaurants, Lenny joined Morrison Healthcare in 1995, where he held roles as vice president and senior vice president before being promoted to his current role. In addition to his work with Morrison Healthcare, he has been an active member of the American Culinary Federation, is a member of Les Amis d’Escoffier Society of Chicago, and is a member of the International Corporate Chefs Association.
Nikki Tench is a division president and has been a team member of Morrison Healthcare since 2003. Her dedication to leadership and innovation stems from her beginnings as a Patient Services Manager. That led into an impressive journey in multiple roles in the organization as a Director, RDO, RVP and SVP. She has devoted her leadership to growing and developing her team and building strong client relationships.
She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Seton Hill University and is a registered dietitian. Nikki lives in Pittsburgh and enjoys traveling, exploring various culinary experiences, and spending time with her family.
Howard is a division president who joined Morrison Healthcare in 2014 after working in several leadership positions within the hospitality industry for 31+ years. Before his current role, Howard oversaw several hospitals across NY, NJ, and PA, where he succeeded at developing winning teams and growing some of our most prominent business in the Northeast.
Howard holds an A.A.S. in Culinary Arts and Hotel Technology from Sullivan County Community College in New York and a B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. In addition, he serves as the Executive Chairperson for the AHA-American Heart Association in NYC.
Howard lives in Long Island, NY, with his wife, Margaret, and their three children, Julia, Jillian, and Jake.
Mara Whitesell is the division president overseeing business across the south and midwest. Following her successful tenure as a dynamic leader with Compass Group for 15 years, including her time as Compass’ Strategic Projects director, she joined Morrison in May of 2021 as regional vice president. Mara, a registered dietitian by trade, has significant and successful experience in operational, sales, clinical and corporate support roles in the hospitality and food service industry, as well as multiunit management.
Mara leads her team from Maryland, where she lives with her husband and two young boys. Mara’s deep experience, leadership skills, and nutritional expertise have strengthened our teams and helped to drive strong operational outcomes within her span of control.
Kathy is a division president who joined Morrison Healthcare in 2007 and has held the roles of system director, regional director of operations, and, most recently, senior vice president. She is a registered dietitian with an extensive culinary background and over 25 years in the food and healthcare industry. Kathy’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from CalPoly San Luis Obispo and a master’s degree in food studies from NYU.
Kathy has led some of our largest health and hospital system businesses on the West Coast and has always championed piloting programs and innovation. She was the first to help design and launch a cashless, technology-driven retail and ghost kitchen space in the Pacific Northwest. Her most prized accomplishment remains building strong relationships with her teams and clients and promoting the growth and advancement of leaders in our company.
Outside of work, Kathy lives on the central coast of California with her husband and two sons, and she enjoys cooking for friends and family, traveling, hiking, and live music.
Dan is a division president who began his career with Morrison Healthcare in 1977. He holds the distinction of having worked at nearly all levels of operations, from utility worker to his current role. He has led some of our largest system business across the country.
Dan’s success comes from his focus on “people first.” He is a steadfast leader who genuinely cares about recognizing and developing his people and building lasting client relationships. Dan holds two important distinctions within Morrison, which include developing the “Catering to You” patient dining program and being part of the leadership team that opened thirty-three hospitals in nine different states on the same day. His passion for training and development are clear, and he has been instrumental in the development of the Keys to Success training resource.
He graduated from the University of New Orleans with a degree in business administration and is a Certified Dietary Manager and Food Protection Professional. He and his wife, Tonya, live in Orlando, Florida, and Dan enjoys traveling, playing outdoor sports, and spending time with his family.

Dudley Poppens
Dudley Poppens is the senior vice president of sales for Compass One Healthcare. He is responsible for the company’s sales strategy and goals, organization design and people development. He is also a member of the Compass One executive committee.

Laura Knight
Laura Knight is the senior vice president of patient solutions for Morrison Healthcare. Her responsibilities include creating and implementing programs and technology solutions that drive patient satisfaction and favorably impact the timeliness, temperature and accuracy of each meal delivered to our patients. Laura oversees a dynamic team of patient service experts that troubleshoot operational efficiencies, provide training opportunities, create staffing models, recommend and implement service style methods and open new business across divisions. Laura also leads the MyDining team, which consists of a team of menu database informatics analysts and technical project managers that maintain and enhance our proprietary patient dining software for our clients.
Laura has 20 years of experience with Compass Group and has been instrumental in creating and implementing culinary and resident engagement programs, software adoptions, and award-winning, national marketing campaigns. No stranger to the healthcare arena, her last role was the vice president of marketing for Morrison Living. During that time, she created data-driven programs that drove occupancy, client retention and created a higher standard of care for seniors.

Kevin Dorr
Kevin Dorr is the Senior Vice President of Culinary Strategy & Innovation for Morrison Healthcare. In this role, Kevin defines and executes Morrison Healthcare’s brand strategy for retail operations in its cafés, second points of service and gift shops in more than 630 hospitals and healthcare systems across the country. Kevin and his team also provide companywide and on-site retail marketing support as well as project management for café refreshes and second points of service and Morrison branded concept installations. His team works closely with Morrison operators and clients to ensure the goals and visions align, while working to make the café an everyday destination for hospital caregivers and guests.
Prior to his current role, Kevin was a Senior Corporate Executive Chef and Corporate Executive Chef for Morrison Healthcare, a position he held for eight years. He is a certified Executive Chef from the American Culinary Federation and has been recognized and awarded as an industry leader for supporting the use of fresh produce by the United Produce Association. In addition, he has more than 15 years of experience in large upscale food service, multi-unit and catering operations, including his work at the 5-star, 5-diamond, Wild in Boar Restaurant in Nashville, TN.
As the Vice President of Marketing at Morrison Healthcare, Jim Robertson uses his 20+ years’ experience in digital strategy, public relations, social media, internal/external communications, and sales enablement to elevate the Morrison Healthcare brand. Before joining the Morrison family, Jim was an asset to the success of Fifth Group Restaurants and Bold Events, where he led all marketing and communications efforts for an array of brands. Jim also spent time as a Brand Leader for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, where he managed the strategic marketing partnerships with the PGA Tour and BMW Motorsport.

Dusty Deringer
Dusty Deringer is vice president of patient experience for Compass One Healthcare, including Morrison Healthcare and Crothall Healthcare. He is responsible for the patient experience strategy, operations and outcomes.
Dusty began work in his current position in 2010. Before joining Compass Group, he worked as director of service excellence for Sisters of Charity-Providence Hospitals, director of customer service for Luther Midelfort Mayo Health System and director of patient access/customer service coordinator for St. John’s Regional Medical Center.

Brad Burden
Brad Burden is the vice president of human resources for Morrison Healthcare. He is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership for the company’s people strategy. He has held this position since 2022.
Before his current position with Morrison, Burden held various human resources positions in the Compass Group field human resources organization since 2000. He has also worked in executive recruiting and leadership development positions at Saks, Inc. and served as the divisional vice president of human resources for Parisian Specialty Stores.

Jay Edmond
Jay Edmond is the vice president of operational strategy for Morrison Healthcare. He works with the company’s senior leadership team to identify and leverage operational efficiencies that drive the business goals and patient satisfaction needs of our clients. His experience includes extensive knowledge of healthcare group purchasing organizations and their strategic sourcing process.
Jay joined Morrison Healthcare in 2015. Before joining Morrison, he worked previously for ten years at GNYHA Services, Inc. as an executive of supply chain resources and foodservice. His responsibilities included retention and recruitment of their food portfolio and strategic sourcing. Prior to that role, he worked at Aramark for nine years, managing multiple services, including food & nutrition, environmental services, patient transport and plant operations maintenance. He also worked at US Foods for five years in cost management and sales roles.
Jay holds a master’s degree in business administration from Johnson & Wales University and a master’s degree in foodservice administration from New York University. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Madras Christian College in India and a Bachelor of Science in hospitality and hotel administration from the Institute of Hotel Management in Chennai, India.

Aundrea Mills has been taking care of people her entire life. She has worked in a hospital since she left high school. She has demonstrated a passion for patients and wellness since she started as a nurse aide after graduating from the University of Kentucky as a registered nurse to her role as chief nursing officer for Compass One Healthcare.
A recipient of the prestigious Silver Lamp Leadership award and scholarship, Aundrea has since left the four walls of a hospital to take the newly created role of chief nursing officer at Compass One. It is a pioneering role and the first of its kind in the food and nutrition services sector. Aundrea works across all company locations, building relationships between nursing and support services to foster a collaborative care team and achieve better outcomes.
Having previously led all service lines in the acute care setting and served as a hospital CNO within large health systems such as Lifepoint, CHS, and Covenant Health System, she knows the challenges nursing teams face. Her reach spans 2,400+ accounts across the country, making impacts with our nurse partners by prioritizing nurses practicing at the “top of license.” With a background in Six Sigma certification, her top priority is giving time back to the nurse at the bedside and providing innovative ways to enhance nurse wellness and sustainable nutrition. Aundrea is an ardent advocate for nurses and their wellness journey, partnering with the American Nurses Association and the Healthy Nurse, Health Nation initiative. Peggy O'Neill
Peggy O’Neill is the vice president of nutrition and wellness at Morrison Healthcare. She oversees the training and performance of the company’s clinical nutrition and foodservice professionals. Peggy also leads the company’s wellness and sustainability platform development, as well as Morrison’s internship program that places interns across the country to gain work experience. She has held this position since 2012.
Peggy is a registered dietitian. Prior to joining Morrison Healthcare, she was vice president of nutrition for Independent Living Systems in Miami, FL.
Peggy holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in nutrition from Florida International University and a master’s degree in business administration from Johnson & Wales University. Tom Hughes
Tom Hughes is the vice president of communications for Compass One Healthcare. He leads the internal and external communications and associate recognition programs for Compass One Healthcare’s Morrison Healthcare and Crothall Healthcare companies.
Tom joined Morrison in 2013 and has 30 years of experience in developing and leading public and media relations strategy. Before joining Morrison, he worked as a senior vice president at Hope-Beckham, a public relations agency in Atlanta. He was responsible for new business development as well as communications strategy and execution.
Tom has also worked as the senior vice president of communications for the Atlanta Hawks, the former Atlanta Thrashers, and Philips Arena (State Farm Arena). In addition, he worked in public relations for more than ten years at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., within Turner Sports and Corporate Communications.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
