This year marks a milestone worth celebrating: 30 years of collaboration between Morrison Healthcare and BJC HealthCare in St. Louis, Missouri, an effort rooted in shared values of excellence, compassion, and innovation. Since 1995, this work has evolved into a dynamic force that not only nourishes patients, guests, and team members but also continuously reimagines what health care food service can be.
A Legacy of Care and Culinary Innovation
Over the years, Morrison has increased services and trust to create a seamless experience for patient, guest, and cafeteria food services.
In 2024 alone, BJC’s East Region hospitals served more than 14 million meals, a testament to the scope and impact of the 30-year relationship.
The organizations have worked together to enhance both the quality and efficiency of meal service while driving significant upgrades to café and retail spaces throughout BJC’s East Region. From major café renovations and kitchen restorations to relocation projects and the creation of coffee shops, these investments reflect a shared commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional service.

A Month-Long Celebration
The official anniversary fell on April 5, 2025; however, celebrations continued throughout the month, recognizing the dedication and hard work of Morrison’s food and nutrition teams. “Over the past three decades, you have set the bar high for excellence, turning mealtimes into moments of care and comfort,” said Peter Lanois, Morrison Division President. “Thank you for being the heart of our community and for making a difference every single day.”
“It has been an honor to spend the better part of my career working side by side with amazing food and nutrition staff and assisting them with the development and advancement of their careers,” said Laura Ravenscraft, Food Service Director for the academic medical center campus, which includes St. Louis Children’s and Barnes-Jewish Hospitals.
