Socktober Shatters Records Again!
“Socktober” continues to be a celebrated and engaging campaign for Compass One Healthcare associates across the country. This year, we’re proud to share that we not only met, but exceeded, our goals by collecting and donating more than 300,000 pairs of socks to charities nationwide.
Morrison teams played a major role with 33,000+ associates participating across the nation.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every person who donated even a single pair of socks to make this year’s campaign such a success. Several health systems demonstrated exceptional engagement:
UVA Health University Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA, collected an extraordinary 42,000 pairs of socks, doubling last year’s total. Their 48 bins of socks were delivered to local shelter The Haven, and 47 bins went to the Salvation Army. Systems Operations Controller Chadwick French spoke with CBS 19 News about this achievement.
Some additional shoutouts!
- – Across the Southeast region, Atrium Healthcare associates in NC, SC, GA, and AL gathered more than 14,000 pairs for the shelters and local organizations across the four states.
- – Saint Francis Bartlett and Saint Francis Memphis donated more than 5,000 pairs of socks to Urban Bike Ministries in Memphis, TN, and were featured on WMC News.
- – At several Mayo Clinic locations, teams collected over 12,000 pairs, doubling last year’s total through friendly competition. Donations were distributed to shelters and social service agencies across four states.
- – At Terrebonne General Health System, Morrison and Crothall partnered to collect more than 1,000 pairs, with support from The Rotary Club of Downtown Houma.
“This year’s Socktober campaign shows how deeply our people care about the communities they serve. Together, Compass One Healthcare has now donated more than one million pairs of socks to those in need. This milestone reflects the compassion and dedication of our teams, partners, and communities,” said Bobby Kutteh, CEO of Compass One Healthcare.
Compass One Healthcare powered by Morrison Healthcare, Crothall Healthcare, Intelas, and TouchPoint Support Services hosts this annual drive to encourage hospital, health system, and senior living teams across the U.S. to donate socks to local shelters and charities.
Socks remain one of the most requested items in shelters. Many people experiencing homelessness rarely have the opportunity to remove their shoes or wash their clothing, making clean socks a simple but critical necessity.
