New Healthcare Dining Destination Opens at Emory Midtown
A new dining experience has arrived at Emory Midtown in Atlanta, GA. Vidalia Café officially opened its doors, bringing fresh food, local flavor and a welcoming new space to patients, visitors and hospital staff.
The café celebrated its opening with a ribbon-cutting featuring hospital leaders, caregivers and associates, along with live jazz and plenty of food to sample. Menu highlights included BBQ pork belly lettuce wraps, spinach and Parmesan egg bites with Vidalia onion jam and peach cutie pies.

Named for Georgia’s official state vegetable, Vidalia Café celebrates the region and its farmers. A produce wall greets guests at the entrance, highlighting local growers and the café’s commitment to supporting the community.
That commitment also extends behind the scenes. Through its partnership with Common Market, the team gives local growers advance notice of purchasing needs, helping farmers plan their crops and make the most of their land.
New Café Features Enhance Convenience for Hospital Guests and Staff
The redesigned café is just as thoughtful. An open layout improves guest flow while keeping the focus on connection. Guests can also take advantage of a new 24/7 grab-and-go market, expanded retail options and technology that allows them to pre-order and pre-pay.
“Definitely a labor of love,” said Lisa Mathieu, Regional Director of Operations. “I wanted an open space to enhance flow for guests without compromising human interaction.”
Leadership Shares the Vision Behind Vidalia Café
For Regional Vice President Tricia Emerson, the opening was a chance to see the team’s hard work come together.
“It’s always great to be at an opening and see our chefs putting love into training staff and focusing on the details and of course creating really good food,” Emerson said.
And for Mathieu, the goal is simple: create an experience guests will remember.
“I am thrilled to deliver the next evolution of dining in a healthcare setting,” she said. “Anyone who visits our café is going to get a powerfully flavorful experience!”
