Meet Linda Soto: A Health First Fixture Since 1975

Morrison Healthcare is proud to honor Linda Soto, who has been an integral part of the Health First family for nearly 50 years. Linda’s unwavering commitment, positive attitude, and years of service represent the very best of our values. Through changing times, expanding facilities, and evolving healthcare practices, Linda has remained a constant, reliable presence that both colleagues and patients have come to treasure. We are deeply grateful for her dedication and the countless lives she has touched throughout her remarkable career.
Q: When did you start working at Health First?
Linda: “I arrived at Health First on June 16, 1975.”
Q: What positions have you held during your time here?
Linda: “I began as a Prep Cook in the kitchen, then became a Patient Dining Associate (PDA), and now work as a Cashier.”
Q: What first drew you to work in foodservice?
Linda: “It first started as just a job in the kitchen prepping food but as time went on I tried serving patients then fell in love with that. As time went by I moved to the cafeteria where I got to interact with long-known doctors, nurses and patients.”
Q: How has Health First changed since you first started?
Linda: “So much has changed… Everything was done manually as technology was still far in the future. There were only three floors and three PDAs. Now, everything is done electronically and there are eight floors and four towers with over 40 PDAs.”
Q: What’s your fondest memory from your career?
Linda: “Meeting a couple of lifelong friends.”
Q: What’s the most meaningful interaction you’ve had with patients or colleagues?
Linda: “Bonded with several patients and their family members who kept in touch over the years. It was hard losing them at times but it was meaningful.”
Linda Soto will celebrate her 50th anniversary with Health First in June 2025, marking half a century of dedicated service to our hospital community.
